July 2025
In the heat of summer, we often feel more alive — and sometimes more uncomfortable. The sun is bright, the days are long, and yet, we may find ourselves overwhelmed by emotions that don’t feel so sunny: anxiety, sadness, irritation, even grief.
But what if these emotions weren’t something to push away or power through?
What if they were showing up for you, not against you?
At Mustard Seeds Wellness, I believe emotions aren’t roadblocks — they’re road signs. And every feeling, no matter how intense or inconvenient, is a friend bringing you a message.
Emotions Are Messengers, Not Mistakes
We live in a world that teaches us to suppress, ignore, or fix our feelings. But emotions are part of the human design — wired into our nervous system to help us notice what matters, respond to what’s happening, and heal what’s hurting.
~Fear might be telling you that you need to pause and protect something sacred.
~Sadness might be inviting you to slow down and honor what was lost.
~Anger might be setting a boundary that has long gone ignored.
~Joy might be reminding you that life still holds beauty and meaning.
When we treat emotions as friends instead of enemies, we gain access to their wisdom.
Befriending Your Emotions: A Mid-Year Invitation
As we move through July — the midpoint of the year — this is the perfect time to check in with your emotional landscape.
- What emotions are showing up most often right now?
- What might they be trying to tell you?
- Are you listening — or bracing against them?
This month, I invite you to soften your approach. Instead of trying to “fix” your feelings, try welcoming them. Get curious. Slow down. Ask, “What do I need right now?” and “What is this emotion here to teach me?”
This summer, may you find space to breathe, listen, and befriend the emotions that are rising within you.
They’re not here to break you. They’re here to bring you home.
